BERNADOTTE - based on a design from 1938, as a vacuum jug it has modern day practicality
Originally designed as a jug, the BERNADOTTE vacuum jug retains the original form for a unique combination of old meets new.

The original BERNADOTTE jug dates from 1938. At that time, functionalism was an important movement in the design world. He kept this aesthetic throughout his life, always coming up with new ways to combine the beautiful with the useful. The vacuum jug was his final design.

Designer: Sigvard Bernadotte
Prince Sigvard Bernadotte (1907-2002) was trained at the Kungliga Konstakademien in Stockholm in 1929. The following year he saw the Stockholm exhibition of Gunnar Asplund, which marked the breakthrough of functionalism. This influenced Bernadotte’s own style and he incorporated the ideals of functional elegance into his design thenceforth. Shortly afterwards, Prince Sigvard Bernadotte and Georg Jensen began a long and fruitful cooperation, in which the new functionalism was at the centre of a more modern interpretation of the work of silver.Read more about Sigvard Bernadotte
